The MAKE IT FLY workshop will include tthe following format:

DISCUSSION AND DEMONSTRATIONS

• MAKING FLYING OBJECTS - Man has always wanted to fly
• DEMONSTRATION OF KITES - From China to Leonardo da Vinci
• NEWTONS LAW - Flying is just pushing down and back
• HOW BIRDS FLY - Its all in the wings!
• DEMONSTRATION - HOT AIR BALLOON - It all started with the Montgolfier brothers
• DEMONSTARTION - JET ROCKETS - Pushing air out fast

Students are then shown how to make three FLYING MACHINES of their own:

TURBO SPINNER - is a simple model of a turbine engine.

PAPER GLIDER - cuts through the air like a plane wing.

NICK'S GLIDER - best paper airplane in the world
